The cardinal turned miner is tortured and meets his death in the depths of the mine at the hands of Emma's brutal husband. But death cannot separate Emma from her former lover.
Emma has two great obsessions, her infatuation with her dead lover and her compulsion for killing. But they are particular about who they kill and they always enjoy it; the blood, the pain, the fear, right down to the final twitch.
